Every day more people die on the roads of the whole world than from any cataclysms or wars. And the causes of human death are many - neglect, speeding, drinking and driving, and the quality of the road itself. And some roads can be very dangerous, and a small miscalculation on such roads even an experienced driver can turn into a tragedy. The danger must be known in person, so the reader should be familiar with the most dangerous roads in the world.

The north yungas road

In Bolivia, there is a road connecting Coroico and La Paz - The North Yungas Road. Its second name is sad - the road of death. The length of this road is 70 kilometers. Every year about 200 people die on it.

In 1930, The North Yungas Road was built by Paraguayan prisoners. Only a few roads connect northern Bolivia with the capital. And this is one of them. It starts at an altitude of 3.6 km above sea level and goes down to 330 meters. Narrow, with a dirty and slippery surface, with steep slopes - all this is the Death Road. Often, due to fog, the road can be seen only a few meters.Tropical rainfall causes landslides, and in an instant a part of the road may simply disappear.

Local rules of the road give priority to driving a car moving up the road, and a vehicle that goes down must keep to the outer edge of the road. Predominantly buses and trucks move along this road, but in some places the road is so narrow that one car is miraculously placed on it.

At the end of 1999, moving along this road, a car fell in the abyss in the cabin of which there were 8 tourists from Israel. And on July 24, 1983, the worst tragedy in the whole history happened on this road - a bus with passengers of 100 people fell into the canyon.

Every day, the people of Bolivia overcome this deadly road. And the worst thing is that in the event of a tragedy, it will be necessary to drive to the nearest hospital for several hours and all along the same road.

Many extreme people who lack adrenaline in the blood come here to go down the road on a mountain bike or SUV. On some sections of the road, they reach speeds of up to 80 km / h. But, unfortunately, not everyone reaches the end point.

BR-116

The BR-116 is the second in Brazil. It runs from Rio de Janeiro through Sao Paulo and Curatiba to Porto Allegre. So here is the stretch from Sao Paulo to Kuratiba called Death Highway (Rodovia da Morte).

The highway is laid along the cliffs, sometimes passes in the tunnels laid in the rock. Car accidents and fatal accidents on this death highway are commonplace.

Sichuan-Tibet Highway

The length of this Chinese road is 2412 kilometers. It begins in the province of Sichuan in Chendu, and ends in Tibet, in Lhasa. The road passes through a huge number of dangerous sites, dozens of large rivers and 14 mountains, whose height is on average equal to 4,500 meters above sea level.

Recently in China, the number of vehicles on the road, in particular motorcycles, has increased, and this has directly proportional to the increase in road traffic deaths. And currently, for 10,000 vehicles, nearly 6 are affected.

Mountain roads have always been dangerous and full of unexpected surprises. On the segment of Chengdu-Tibet are very frequent stone avalanches and landslides, which are commonplace in these places.

Pan American Highway

The road is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, and is recognized as the world's longest car track. The road is paved from the southern regions of South America and ends in Alaska in North America. But the most dangerous part of this highway passes through the territory of Costa Rica.

The section of the Pan American Highway, which passes through Costa Rica, is laid through the country's tropical forests. These scenic spots are pristine and therefore it is forbidden to carry out construction work. During the rainy season, sections of the road are washed away with water, and due to heavy traffic on it at other times of the year, it becomes very dangerous. Here, its segments are surrounded by cliffs, some of them are crooked and very narrow, here often there are landslides and floods.

Coastal Roads

The roads of Croatia are very good, but we are talking about coastal roads, on which they like to polish, especially when driving on sharp turns hot Croatian guys. For this reason, there are a lot of fatal accidents happening here, which gives the right to consider the coastal roads of Croatia - the most dangerous roads.

Locals and visiting tourists on the Dalmatian coast, that in the Adriatic one should be more wary of coastal roads with Croat-Riders, than land mines left here since the period of the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Cotopaxi volcan

The roads in Ecuador can be considered dangerous all, but the most dangerous of them is the route, which is called Cotopaxi Volcano, passing south of the capital Quito. It runs from the Cotopaxi Volcano National Park to the Pan American Highway. This is almost 30 kilometers of dirt dirt road with a lot of dangerous turns and potholes. Here there is a high probability of convergence of mudflows and landslides.

In addition to this, inexperienced drivers who drive very old cars here are added. Those who want to understand how to drive in the jungle should visit the Cotopaxi Volcan. But to look at it is better from the side.

Luxor-al-Hurghada

This road passes in Egypt. It connects the ancient city of Luxor with the Red Sea recreation area. The route Luxor-Hurghada can certainly be attributed to the most dangerous road. At night, cars drive at high speed on the road with their lights off and collide with each other.

And why with headlights off? At night there are a lot of terrorists, robbers and bandits on the road. They patrol the road in anticipation of easy prey. Therefore, driving at night with light on the Luxor-Hurghada road is even more dangerous. Ten years ago, over a year on this road, more than 60 tourists died at the hands of bandits.

A44

In the UK, the A44 runs from Aberystwyth to Oxford. This is a narrow two-lane road. It always recorded a huge amount of accidents, of which 25% were head-on collisions. In order to somehow reduce the number of accidents and this route, surveillance cameras were installed on it. But the notoriety about this road has remained unchanged.

Patientopoulo-perdikaki

For 400 years, the Ottoman Empire tried to completely conquer Greece. The mountainous region of Agaf, which is located in the central part of the country, remained unconquered. The Turks had everything - political will and military power, but they did not know how to approach Agafa. Until now, the roads of this region of Greece have remained as steep and dangerous. But the most dangerous of them is Patiopoulo-Perdikaki.

Grand Trunk Road

The road connecting the main cities of Afghanistan and Pakistan with India was built in the 16th century. Probably, since then, her condition has not changed at all, the only thing that has changed is that modern buses and cars have appeared on it. And now they are mixed with a huge mass of pedestrians, cyclists, animals and carts. The road is considered the most dangerous because of its overcrowding.
