The Eurovision Song Contest for 63 years makes hundreds of thousands of fans of popular music look forward to the results and support their favorite artists.

This year the event will be held in Lisbon, where the winner of Eurovision 2017 Salvador Sobral brought it. The last competition was held in Kiev. This year the semi-finals are held on May 8 and 10, the final will conclude on May 12. Preparation for the show is supported by the Portuguese government and local authorities. Presumably the venue for the event will be "Meo-Arena" in Lisbon.

Who will go from Russia to Eurovision 2018

Russian singers have been participating in Eurovision since 1994. The victory went to the country only once in 2008, when Dima Bilan sang the song “Believe” at the contest. In 2018, as previously promised, the show will go to Julia Samoilova.

The girl was born in 1989 in Ukhta. As a result of poor-quality vaccinations, she was confined to a wheelchair. This did not prevent Yulia from demonstrating her singing talent.At the age of 10 she was invited to the City Palace of Pioneers to practice vocals. Before that, she participated in various concerts, but the beginning of her studies gave her the opportunity to grow to more serious contests. At the age of 15, Samoilova began studying at the local House of Culture and participated in regional and All-Russian singing competitions.

In 2002, the girl received an award at the famous Silver Hoof vocalist contest. She was also a laureate:

  • the festival "On the wings of a dream" 2003;
  • contest "Spring drops" 2005;
  • competition "Schlager 2005";
  • competition "New Ukhta" 2012;
  • show "Factor A" 2013.

After that, Julia took part in many concerts throughout the country and even participated in the opening of the Olympic Games in 2014. In 2017, the name of Julia Samoilova thundered to the whole world. The girl was in the center of a loud international scandal. Despite the fact that Julia passed the national selection, she was not able to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Ukraine, as the host country, said that the girl violated local legislation, giving a concert on the annexed territory of Crimea. The Ukrainian authorities were even willing to pay a fine, but did not allow the Russian participant to compete.

Then Russia refused to change its representative and withdrew from the competition. But the girl was promised that next year she would certainly present her strontium in the international arena.

As it was supposed, Yulia Samoilova is going to Portugal this year, which was officially announced on January 29 of this year. The girl said that she would finally succeed in fulfilling her childhood dream. Work on the number is in full swing. While the name of the song is not announced. Also not yet chosen costume and scenery. It is only known that the working team is headed by director Alexey Golubev.

Eurovision 2018: Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia

The restrictions of last year are more than compensated for in 2018. There is a Russian imprint on the speeches of other countries. For example, a participant from the Russian TV projects “Voice” and “Main Stage” will go from Armenia to the competition. But the most triumphant achievement of the singer was the victory in the Ukrainian show "X-factor" in 2016. For Eurovision Sevak Khanagyan was chosen by audience voting. He became one of ten job seekers and won the national final.

Moldova has also completed the national selection. On January 15, the submission of applications was completed. The result was a list of participants from 28 points. Among the favorites were the players of the Russian performer and producer Philip Kirkorov of the trio “DoReDoS”. It was they who triumphantly won on New Wave 2017. Also in the list were performers who regularly try to protect their right to represent the country at the international level:

  • Sasha Bognibov;
  • “Che-MD”;
  • Doinitsa German;
  • Ruslan Tseranu and others.

Philip Kirkorov came to support the guys at the final of the national selection. And on the basis of Moldova will go to represent the group “DoReDoS”.

From Ukraine to the contest sent Melovin, who became the winner of the national selection by the decision of judges and spectators. Chip artist became specific lenses that he puts on performances. Reporters suggested that this image after the competition will be adopted by many young people throughout Ukraine.

Unfortunately, to take primacy at the competition only outrageous appearance will not work. Therefore, the winner of 2016, Jamala, advised the young man to practice more vocals. The girl said that in this area the artist has something to work on. Nevertheless, Melovin made a promise to bring Eurovision to his country next year.

Friendly Belarus will be represented by the well-known young performer Alekseev in Russia. For winning the selection, Nikita has already received his first prize. He became a glass heart made in the style of Eurovision.

I want to believe that this year the event will take place without scandals and political motives. Viewers expect participants to offer their best work and will be appreciated for it.
